‘I Won’t Remain Alone’ awarded at Parnu festival

Iranian short film ‘I Won’t Remain Alone’ has been awarded at the Parnu International Documentary and Anthropology Film Festival in Estonia.

‘I Won’t Remain Alone’ won the best documentary on survival of indigenous peoples at the 28th edition of the festival.

Directed by Yaser Talibi, the film is about an elderly couple battling ill-health who lives in a small village in northern Iran. Sorraya and Jalal donated their son’s organs after he was declared brain dead.

The Parnu International Documentary and Anthropology Film Festival aims to “support cultural survival of peoples”, according to an online submission platform.

It accepts “documentary films and videos of high value and quality, recording human activities in social, historical or ecological context”.

The 28th Parnu International Documentary and Anthropology Film Festival took place on July 12-12.
